Welcome to Miss Schmitt and Mrs. Bowen's Pre-K Class!

A few reminders:
- Please make sure your child's shoes are tied before they come to school (double knots please!) as this prevents tripping and taking away lots of class time tieing them!
- When sending any sweatshirts or fleeces pelase make sure your child's name is clearly marked inside!
- Papers are sent home throughout the week - NOT just on Fridays!! - Please check schoolbags each night!

oApril 2nd – 9th – Spring Break!
oApril 10th – School Resumes
oApril 11th – Class Picture (Uniforms are to be worn!)
oApril 17th – Field Trip to the Zoo
oMay 9th – Mother’s Day Brunch (10:15am-11am)
oMay 16th - Pre-K Field Day (10am-11am)/End of the Year Party (2:30pm)
oMay 17th – Last full day of school for Pre-K
oMay 18th – Pre-K Closing Program (9am in the Parish Hall)
**Ceremony will be followed by an awards presentation in the students’ classroom
**Parents and Pre-K Students will dismiss at 10:30am |

Parent/Teacher Communication
|
|
Parent/Teacher communication is extremely important! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. E-Mail is the fastest way to get in touch with me as I check it in the mornings before school, during nap-time, and after school. My e-mail address is rschmitt@stjudebr.org
If there is going to be a change in your child's transportation home please send that information in a handwritten note so that I can be sure that the children are brought to the right place at the end of the day! Thanks! |

Discipline
|
|
Proper classroom behavior ensures for a successful day of fun and learning for all!
Please make sure to check your child's hand each afternoon for a stamp or sticker - this means their Tiger or Zebra (boys have Tigers, girls have Zebras) stayed on the tree all day!
Also make sure to check their Friay folder for their Happy Gram!
If they have a Happy Gram with a treat this means they stayed on the tree all week. If their Happy Gram does not have a treat they have fallen off of the tree during the week. If a child falls off of the tree more than once a week they will come home with a Sad Gram.

Take Home Folders
|
|
Take Home Folders will be sent home every Friday. Inside of the folder you will find copies of things that we have been working on in the classroom, any notes that need to be sent home from me or the office, and our weekly newsletter.
PLEASE make sure to check your child's folder every Friday. They will be very excited to share all of the fun things we have done in class!!
Please remember to return the folders on Monday! |

Homework
|
|
Homework will be assigned every Wednesday. The assignment will be the same each week! The students' assignment will be to find a picture of something that starts with the letter that we are studying that week. We will use these pictures to create an ABC book.
Please make sure that your child is a participant in finding the picture- this is such a fun way for parents to be involved in our school activities! |

Birthdays
|
|
We love to celebrate birthdays in Pre-K! You may send a special snack on your child's birthday for the class to enjoy during our afternoon snack time.
If you would like to join us for afternoon snack that day to share in the celebration we would love to have you! This snack is shared at 2:40pm.
(*This is not mandatory! We understand that this is not always possible!*)
Please note that if you are joining us to celebrate your child's birthday please only bring a small snack (anything your child would enjoy - cupcakes, cookies, brownies, chips - their favorite item). We will supply napkins for you! This is not a party – just a small snack celebration so drinks, treat bags, decorations, or anything else are not to be brought.
This is a special celebration for your child and the class. We ask that siblings do not attend. Thanks! |
