  • More info. on this fieldtrip will come later in the year. For now, you can read about the program below:
  • Communities LinkUP! is designed to strengthen relationships between orchestras and their local schools and communities, The Weill Music Institute's Communities LinkUP! Program assists regional orchestras and arts organizations in adapting Carnegie Hall's highly acclaimed LinkUP! program in their own communities. Targeted for students in the fourth–sixth grades, the Communities LinkUP! program increases students' performing, creating, and listening skills through a series of sequentially linked activities, which include classroom instruction as well as interactive orchestra concerts. The culmination of the year-long program is a live orchestra performance for the local students, which for many is their first concert experience. The concert applies the musical concepts studied during the year and gives the students the unique opportunity of playing recorder or singing along with the orchestra throughout the performance. During the 2005-2006 season, ten orchestras and arts organizations in eight states are participating in the WMI Communities LinkUP! Program.
Music Wanted
It is very important that children listen and learn about different genres of music. If you have any CD's or tapes you would like to donate to the music department please let me know.
I will also welcome any instruments that you would like to let us use in the music room.
