Welcome to Mrs. Briggs and Mrs. Devillier's Kindergarten class!

Click here for Nuts & Bolts of Kindergarten letter.

Thank you for all of the special treats and gifts given to Mrs. D and me this week for Teacher Appreciation Week. You made us feel so special!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful mothers!!! Please enjoy the gifts your child made.... :)

An end-of-year packet will go home with your child at the end of the week. Recommendations/suggestions of activities to keep your child's skills strong will be included. Please be sure to read this information. :)

*** Last Day of Kindergarten*** May 18th. We will have Field Day from 10-11AM followed by a pizza party. Ice cream will follow. Parents (no siblings) are invited to attend the pizza and ice cream party on the deck. Parents are welcome to take their children with them after the parties. Parents may also allow students to remain at school with us and be dismissed by normal routine (bus, carpool, or extension). Please note, I will not be attending this date as my son, Brandon, will be graduating from LSU and he has two ceremonies that I wouldn't miss for the world. Thank you for entrusting your angels to both Mrs. D and me!

Uniform reminder- girls should be wearing navy blue shorts under their jumper.

Book of Words - Please continue reviewing. Flash cards are VERY helpful but remember to shuffle them. :)

Room Moms: Lisa Thomas and Katie Frederick

A few parents have had questions regarding our kindergarten discipline plan. If you did not put your copy in your child's blue take-home folder, you can access the information
here
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the plan or your child's conduct. Thank you for your support. :)

We have been working very hard with the students to write their names with one upper case letter and the rest lower case. Please work with your child as much as possible to cement this concept.

Shoe-tying awards: a special award will be given to those students who can demonstrate their ability to tie their own shoes correctly this week. Please be working with your child on this fundamental skill. :)

Please make sure you are checking your child's take-home folder daily and returning materials on the "Bring Right Back" side.

Library visits are on Wednesday. Please have your child return their book to school on Tuesdays so that they can check out a new book on each Wednesday.

Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in his/her backpack.
