What’s Happening This Week
February 6 - 10, 2012 Religion - We are learning about Chapter 11 - The Parish is Our Home. We are practicing the Apostles Creed. The February Religion Project is due February 28. Enrichment Activities
Language - We are investigating more verbs in Unit 4. February 15 - Three shoebox float papers are due.
Social Studies -We are discussing symbols and customs of U.S. holidays. Web site from the Library of Congress February 15 - Shoebox float due.
Cultural Literacy - We will read Sideways Stories From Wayside High.
Math - We are concentrating on Chapter 8 - Geometry and Measurement. Please practice Rocket Math set D daily. Math Practice Interactive Math Site
Reading/Spelling - We are reading Seven Spools of Thread. Enrichment Activities Phonics Activities Third Grade Word List During the third nine weeks, your child must read two A/R books. The books must be a level 3.5 or higher. Your child must take and pass the Accelerated Reading (A/R) test. Otherwise, the book does not count toward the required nine week assignment. The A/R requirement is due March 9. New conduct cards are given out on Monday. They belong in the front pocket of the student planner at all times. They are taken up on Friday.
Test papers are sent home on Tuesday in the Take Home Folder. Please sign and return them by Thursday.
Wednesday is our library day. Please make sure all library books are returned on time.
Please check Mrs. Brayden's website weekly. She teaches all of third grade science.
Grades are available on edline.
